Dutch Apple Cake
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 190 degrees.
- Grease a 20 x 20 cm baking tin.
- Mix the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar together in a bowl. Add the shortening, applesauce and almond milk. Mix until all ingredients have combined to form a dough.
- Spread the mixture into the prepared tin.
- Peel, core and slice the apples into wedges.
- Push them deep into the dough with the skin side up.
- Mix the sugar with the cinnamon and sprinkle on top.
- Bake for 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the cake comes out clean. Let cool slightly before serving.
